Jason Donovan

Jason Sean Donovan was born into a show business family in Melbourne Australia on 1 June1968.

His good looks and talent made him a naturalon Australian TV. His first appearances ontelevision there includedas ‘I Can Jump Puddles’, ‘Skyways’and ‘Gold Pennies’.

His big break came withthe role of Scott Robinson in the primetime soap ‘Neighbours’which turned him into an international stargaining every Australian major award including Most Popular Actor.

The series went onto to become one of the highest rating shows in the UK which led to Jason’s huge chart success within the PWL Pop era.
Hisdebut album ‘Ten Good Reasons’was the biggestselling album of 1989 with sales of 1.5 million including the duet ‘Especially For You’with Kylie Minogue and‘Too Many Broken Hearts’which contributed in the impressive world sales of 13 million albums and 4UK No. 1s.
Jason returned to ‘Jeff Wayne’s War Of The Worlds –The New Generation’ but this time, playing the role of Parson Nathaniel with cast members, Marti Pellow and Ricky Wilson. Throughout 2013/14 Jason put his heels back on and reprised the role of ‘Tick/Mitzi’ in ‘Priscilla Queen of the Dessert’ for the nationwide UK tour and in November 2014 for the third and final time, toured with ‘War of the Worlds’ alongside Shayne Ward, Bryan McFadden and Carrie Hope Fletcher.In 2015, it was announced that Jason would take on the role of speech therapist, ‘Lionel Logue’ in the stage adaptation of ‘The Kings Speech’ for which he received rave reviews.From September 2015 until February 2016, Jason continued his role in ‘Priscilla’ then went straight into rehearsals for the show you are seeing this evening.

The Ten Good Reason’s album has never been toured so for the very first time, you willbe able to hear the album live, back to back.
In March 2016, Jason embarked on a 41date UK tour where, for the first time ever, he performed his 1989 5 x platinum selling ‘Ten Good Reasons’ album back to back alongside his greatest hits.
Throughout 2016 and into 2017, Jason playedthe role of record producer, Sam Phillips on the UK tour of Million Dollar Quartet which tells the legendary story of Sun Records, when on the 4thDecember 1956, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins spent the day jamming in the same studio.

2017 continued witha summer full of Festivals and the continuation of his hugely successful Sunday eveningshow ‘Jason Donovan’s 80’s Rewind’on Heart Radio.In February 2018, Donovan will take to theroad on a 47-date UK tour for his autobiographical show ‘Jason and his Amazing Midlife Crisis’.

The ‘in conversation’ style show will be filled with stories, laughter and music spanning Jason’s amazing career.
The show will examine every aspect of Jason’s life, from where he began to where he is today as we revisit his past, present and future. Jason’s relentless enthusiasm and a refreshingly blunt compulsion towards honesty will reveal all about his rollercoaster life. The show will be a rare chance to get up close and personal with the star with an opportunity forthe audience to ask questions. Jason will also perform some acoustic versions of his classic hits.
